TY - JOUR T1 - Freedom from Wealth and the Contemporary Global Family: A New Vision for Family Wealth Management JF - The Journal of Wealth Management SP - 21 LP - 29 DO - 10.3905/jwm.2008.11.3.021 VL - 11 IS - 3 AU - Charles A. The solutions we see today will face unprecedented challenges as they try to provide services and products to the wealthiest families. An important driver of this change is the fact that families will increasingly become global, while another is the growing recognition by wealth holders that substantial wealth should be a servant and not the master, that freedom from the burdens of wealth is an integral objective of wealth management. The new model will require global breadth and multicultural and multijurisdictional depth. It will require an overlay of wisdom and experience sharing resources on a basis customized individual by individual. It will require an understanding that family wealth management includes the harmonization of wealth and life to accomplish the purposes of the wealth holder. Providers of family wealth management must ultimately offer advice reflecting the unique character and needs of each individual.TOPICS: Wealth management, global ER -
